AASHE partners with local, sustainable restaurants to provide a fun and intimate environment for attendees to network and experience more of what Pittsburgh has to offer. There are many restaurants that are responsible members of the Pittsburgh community through environmental, purchasing and employment practices within their neighborhoods and beyond. Please sign up and visit one of these wonderful restaurants.

Fee: $50 includes sustainable three-course meal, one complimentary glass of house wine, beer or well cocktail; brief discussion with chef and/or restaurant owner and transportation.

avenue_b_logo.gif In 2004, the Chris Bonfil returned home, delivering his multifaceted culinary talents to his hometown, which he felt, and still feels, is on the rise in the global culinary market. He used a fusion of Mediterranean, Southwestern, Asian, and New American cuisine using age old culinary techniques as executive chef. Finally, in November of 2009, Chef Chris was able to open a place of his own, a place where he can not only grow as a culinary artist, but satisfy the hunger of the city Pittsburgh.

But that doesn't mean diners should overlook Severino's fresh market fare: The Pittsburgh chef brings a new perspective to farm-to-table cooking by presenting local ingredients in innovative ways. Here, he roasts heirloom carrots and serves them chilled with an herby salsa verde. This new twist on a vegetable dish shows how chilled carrots are just as desirable as their warm counterparts--and can be a surprising addition to your next meal.

DRLidia Lidia’s Pittsburgh menu concept is a combination of New York restaurants, Felidia and Becco. The menu features a daily pasta tasting, with homemade pastas and that incorporate the seasons freshest ingredients in addition to hearty Italian favorites such as the Osso Bucco, a braised Heritage Pork Shank with barley risotto. The Scallopine of Chicken Breast with roasted lemon, capers and olive and Grilled Salmon Fillet with Yukon gold potatoes, reflects that essence that is Lidia’s cooking.

Nola on the Square

Nola on the Square is a New Orleans Jazz Brasserie located on beautifully renovated Market Square. A breathtaking transformation of the storied 1902 Landmark Tavern, a Nouveau Creole menu by Executive Chef Andrew Hebson, Bourbon Street cocktails, live jazz and blues music at least twice a week all contribute to that Big Easy vibe.

DRStagioniF Stagioni is owned and operated by Cara DelSignore and Chef Stephen Felder. It is their goal to cook with ingredients that are local, seasonal, and sustainable. Located in the heart of Bloomfield, Pittsburgh's Little Italy, Stagnioni's offers a menu inspired by the seasons. Using Old World techniques and ingredients, they get their Italian flair. They provide a casual, relaxed dining experience. Please note that only wine will be served with a special wine pairing.
